Whether you’re straight out of University, working on AAA, Indie or you’ve just been making a tonne of games in your spare time, we look at the person, not just the number of years in the industry. Some roles obviously benefit from more experience, but if you’re willing to learn then we want to hear from you.

We are based in Dundee, Scotland, but work remotely with or without lockdown so welcome fully remote team members from all over the UK. We also recognise the importance of working together in-person, so we believe it’s still important to find time to meet face to face whenever possible.

The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, multi-disciplined Game Artist to join Earthbound Games at an early stage in our current PC title’s development with the ability to have a massive influence on how we shape and grow the game and company going forwards.

As a small Indie team, we’re looking for a Game Artist who can turn their hand to a range of tasks, with a primary focus on hard surface 3D modelling.

As a Game Artist, you will bring your own vision and style to the project while working closely with a small internal development team to rapidly prototype, test and release new and exciting gameplay features for our current PC title before shifting gears to help us build an exceptional development team around you and our games. You Excel at
  • Collaborating with multiple disciplines to iteratively develop features that achieve the high-level goals of the game.
  • Employing a can-do attitude to solve difficult problems as part of a remote, agile, and fast-moving team.
  • Breaking down your work into measurable and achievable tasks.
  • Hard surface modelling, particularly ground and aerial vehicles
You Have
  • Excellent understanding of modelling, texturing and optimization of assets through art pipeline
  • Strong skills in art software packages such as Maya, Max, ZBrush, Substance and Photoshop 
  • Good understanding of art fundamentals and design (including understanding of composition and colour) 
  • Good communication skills and ability to receive and act upon feedback 
  • Hardworking and have a strong passion to learn and improve as an artist 
  • Experience in UE4 with good awareness of UE4 engine budgets and constraints 
Even Better if You Have
  • Experience creating VFX in Unreal
  • Experience creating in-game and front end UI assets
  • Ability to communicate ideas through concepts
  • Experience animating mechanical bodies
  • Passion and constant drive to stay up to date with the latest technology and new techniques
